Manavata members expressed their new year greetings with several humanitarian activities in January 2009. It was a great start for the year. Members have demonstrated great team work and a well coordinated program with the recent 500KM cycling program and charity together International Charity Together Conference.

Clothe donation to poor:
Every year Manavata conducting clothe distribution program in Winter. This program is helping around 4000 people in different cities and villages. This year we have collaborated with Share-a-service organization to extend service to more people. Share-a-service under the leadership of Gaurishankar has done a great job in collecting clothes. Manavata Hyderabad and Bangalore chapters also collected good amount of clothes. Hyderabad program is coordinated by Prakash, Sriram, Amar, Aravind, Paddaraju and team. Bangalore program is coordinated by Bhadram, Pramod and Pradeep.
This time distribution was spread across 800KM range in Hydearabad to Srikakulam route. Manavata members have organized this very well though it took lot of time for them to sort-out clothes etc. Some of the distributions are
1st Jan: Clothes distribution team of Srinivas, Prakash, Amar, Mallikarjun and other volunteers started at 4AM and loaded clothes into two cars; distributed them in slum areas near Miyapur in Hyderabad.
4th Jan 09: International Charity together Conference was held at Tagore Auditorium, Osmania University, Hyderabad. Around 80 organizations participated. This program was strongly supported by leaders from different organizations. Mr. Srinivas and team expressed their gratitude to all the participants and leaders. To name some Mr. Sudarshan from LeadIndia2020, Mr. Suryanarayana, Vivekananda Seva Samithi, Dr. Sudarshan Reddy from Malakpeta Yoga Kendra,
Srinivas requested leaders of different organizations to come forward and take leadership roles in charitytogether forum. Around 15 people formed as a committee of hyd ctg and had a 30 minutes meeting with new committee members..
Manavata Chaitanya Yatra: (Humanitarian Enlightenment camp)
Manavata Chaitanya Yatra was a 500KM cycling camp along with self-less service activities which is aimed to promote awareness among youth and to inspire them in taking social responsibility. This 6 days long camp demonstrated a successful team work.
A great effort from around 500 volunteers who helped 2000 patients in medical camps, 20,000 poor people through clothes distribution, planting 6000 saplings, touched around 25,000 youth and inspired them through personality development, health awareness sessions. Overall it was a great success.
Volunteers organized themselves into four different teams: 1. Cycling 2. Cloth distribution & plantation 3. Health and Medical camps 4. Personality Development. The respective teams played their respective roles very well.
Whole program was planed well in advance by Manavata team. Local volunteers for plantation, institutions for PDP, villages to organize health camps and stop over for night halt were identified, in advance, through a route survey by a set Manavata volunteers in order to organize different programs smoothly.
A great team work from different manavata chapters mainly Manavata Hyderabad, Manavata Ashram and Manavata UK chapters have done a great work. //A brief update on day-to-day activity of the camp//
Manavata teams’ Chaitanya Yatra brought good results and their noble cause was appreciated by several Philanthropists and intellectuals Men and Women, particularly the Youth. The 500 KMs Yatra was a memorable one in the tablets of team members memories.
Global Youth Movement:
Global Youth Movement is one of the Manavata’s key programs which is aimed at empowering youth through personality development program (PDP). This year it has reached to around 25000 youth through it’s PDP sessions. Programs were conducted in several places like Hyderabad, Pochampalli, Suryapet, Khammam, M. Venkatayapalem, Dharmaraopet, Ramachandrapuram, Rajahmundry, Kakinada, Lolla, Srikakulam and so on. By end of 2009 PDP sessions are targeted to reach another 25000 youth.
Manavata Ashram:
Manavata Ashram in Lolla and Hyderabad together supporting around 40 children now. This year planning to support upto 200 children. Manavata also supporting a blind school (50 children) in Ramachandrapuram and a disabled home (45 children) in Srikakulam. All the children in Manavata ashram have improved well in their education and also in social outlook. Recently ashram children in Lolla have celebrated Sakranthi with several activities including plantation, games, sports, quiz etc. Srinivas took special yoga sessions for them all the four days and he spent time with them to teach and encourage children to follow right path. Weekly personality development sessions also kicked off in ashram which Mr. Gandhiji and Mr. Pavan are taking care of them. Summer science camp, personality development and other knowledge sharing sessions are also planed for this summer. Volunteers are working on this program now.
Blood Donation Program:
Manavata Hyderabad team is doing a good job in organizing helpline with a great support from members. We really appreciate the volunteers who are donating blood as and when needed. To support increased number calls in time we have decided to improve number of donors in our database. Chapter members are working on campaigning and collecting donors information. We sincerely request all the members to co-operate with this activity. A team of volunteers also working on automating helpline to improve services much better.

Manavata UK is planning sessions in Reading, Bristol, Bracknell, Telford and London specifically for children this time. Srini, Mahesh, Naveen, Sriram, Sreelakshmi and Ashutosh are working on this. Manavata US is planning to organize weekly sessions in Bay Area. Detailed schedules will be announced on the website very soon. Jothi Prakash, Ishai are coordinating this. Shree Balakrishna Trivedi has been taking regular yoga sessions in Manavata Ahmadabad chapter. Siddhesh has started sessions in Paris. Hyderabad & Lolla chapters are doing daily sessions.
Recent health awareness camps have created good motivation in respective locations. Now village Dharmaraopet people would like to continue homeopathic treatment. We are planning monthly or weekly camps for them from next month. Dr. Sundar will be organizing a Ayurvedic camp in slums near Hyderabad in this month.
